Our Vision for Sunday School is:
To have the children know and feel the presence of God through study and worship, so they will be able to pray to God whenever they need to, no matter where they are.
Our continuing goal is to maintain classes for every age level and grade level, infant through high school.
What we study:
Our lessons for study are based on the Lectionary for each Sunday. The children hear and study what is also being heard by the adults on a given Sunday. We have three curriculums to choose from. The most popular one for the younger children seems to be "The Whole People of God". The other ones are "The Inviting Word" and the "Colorado Curriculum", all Lectionary centered. Each one has a focus lesson, which they stress for that Sunday. The lesson then develops from that particular Bible reading.
The children start each session singing together. They then go to their classes, where they start with prayer and then go into their given lesson. There is usually an activity or a special craft that goes with the theme of the lesson for the day. They all enjoy the crafts. The session is ended with a prayer and then the children attend communion with their family.
The teachers are very God centered and prepare their lessons well, with an appropriate and enjoyable lesson for each age group they teach.
